A common problem for walnuts purchased in Ireland is that they are starting to spoil, the oil has slightly rancid taste, and are not as fresh and sweet as they could be. I'm saying this after having tasted fresh walnuts in France that were delicious. Walnuts seem very sensitive to air and would be best if vacuum packed as soon as they are out of their shells.

I have a handful of mixed nuts everyday and I was delighted to be able to buy them organic and in bulk. I love that the country of origin is listed, since I want to avoid buying from outside of Europe. And they taste great as well. I only wish they came in in half’s instead of a broken pieces. They’d be great for baking but not so much for snacking. Still great quality nuts.
